THE POOR IN SPIRIT
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:3).
When the Lord Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” He wasn’t referring to those who lack material possessions. Rather, He meant those who, in their spirits, have given up everything to God. These are people who don’t hold anything back in their service of the Lord. You may see them surrounded by abundance, yet in their hearts, they’ve counted those things as nothing.
