THE LAW OF LIFE
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH (Romans 8:2).
Many have struggled with the underlined expression in our opening scripture as though “the law of sin and death” is one combined law. But in the context of Romans 7 and 8, death itself is not a law. There’s the law of sin, and there’s death as a consequence. The actual rendering is: “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin, and from death.”
